A literary imprint of Acquired Taste Studios

ATS Press

“Because good literature is an acquired taste.”

A small house for new voices — writers the world hasn’t met yet. We read everything, and we publish the ones we fall in love with.

We’re looking for the ones nobody’s found yet

Not the famous. Not the connected. The good. If you’ve written something true and no one’s given it a home, this is the door.

Big publishers chase safe bets. We chase taste — the debut nobody saw coming, the book you can’t stop thinking about. Discovering a great new writer is its own acquired taste, and it’s the only thing we do.

What we offer writers

An honest deal, and a generous one.

Here’s our promise to you
1
No advance — we’ll be straight with you
We’re a young house; we can’t hand you a big check up front. We won’t pretend otherwise.
2
But we design your book — beautifully
A real cover, a real interior, laid out by professional designers. Your words deserve to look as good as they read.
3
And you keep a bigger share of every sale
A far better cut than the big houses give. When your book sells, you feel it.
4
On Amazon & in bookstores
Print-on-demand means your book is real, orderable everywhere, and never out of stock.
You never pay us a cent. A real press invests in its authors — not the other way around.

How it works

  1. You send it. Your manuscript, a little about you, and what your book is.
  2. We read it. Actually read it — every one lands with a person, not a slush pile.
  3. If we fall for it, we make you an offer. Simple contract, generous split, no games.
  4. We design, print & publish it. Cover, layout, distribution — the works.
  5. You earn on every copy sold. Your book, out in the world, with your name on the spine.

Send us your book

Unpublished, unfinished-but-close, or ready to go — we want to see it.

We read everything. If it’s a fit, you’ll hear from a real person — not an auto-reply.
A note from the founder

“I started this because the best book I ever read was one almost nobody had heard of. Somewhere out there is a writer who thinks no one will ever say yes. I want to be the one who does.”
